Luigi's Run - Colored

***CHALLENGE***
TRY TO GET A SOUNDBYTE OF DEANNA MUSTARD (the voice of Daisy) SAYING THE LINE IN THE PICTURE. Hell, if you have to show her the artwork to give some motivation.

(edit: Forgot to put in the background in those two big white spots of the Bob-omb's key...)

Shoxxe delivers once again an awesome piece for my merciless imagination and tastes.

After the past few events of its other-universe wearers, the Mask once again is transported into another realm...but where?


"I hate you...you...GREEN WEARING IDIOT!"

The front door of the Mario Bros' pad slammed louder than an obese Thwomp. Out stormed an angry tomboyish princess, teeth gritted to fight back the tears she hid from the object of her affection.

Only recently after the events of the Star Bit Festival, Luigi could only go on and on in his sleep about some woman called "Rosalina". Based on how Mario described her (much to Peach's offense) she had a mysterious insurmountable beauty with little equal, of course he directly contradicted himself putting Peach on higher grounds to save face.

She turned an eye to Luigi, "So how do I match up to her?" she asked, giving him a look seductively batting her eyes and yet holding her cunning like a fox.

"Well...Rosalina's beyond anyone...I mean uh," Silly, tactless Luigi. Before he could finish his sentence, the Sarasaland embassador dropped her expression and slapped the tall green plumber so hard, he crashed against the living room wall like a green missile.

On a distant hill just outside the courtyard of the Mushroom Kingdom's cast, she peered out into the night sky

"Dummy Luigi... he'll never understand"

An object of what seemed to be shooting star or a comet appeared in the sky. "Oh, I got it! I'll make a wish"

A loud crashing boom occured in the distance.

"A meteorite?" She thought. Immediately she made haste for the crash site.

Climbing into the crater she took notice to a strange object. It didn't look like any kind of rock at all. In fact it was made of wood.

'How does a wooden mask make a crater like that?' she though to herself. Strangely, it was cool to the touch.

"!?"

"Maybe...maybe this is the answer to my wish"

(the following morning)

"Hey Mario?" Luigi was resting an ice pack on his head from the massive haymaker Daisy laid on him.

"You think Daisy's still upset about this whole thing?" Mario pulled his cap over his eyes "Errr...you should probably talk to her, patch things up a bit you know." The red capped older brother preferred not to talk about women problems, not ever since Pauline bought a place in the Mushroom Kingdom.

As soon as Luigi made way for the door, a yellow tornado burst inside the door and swept up Luigi and dragged him outside by the mail box. When the storm subsided, it took on the form of a ...familiar woman, though something about her was off.

"Hey there, tall green and handsome...What'd do you say we go to Water Land. I know a long straight scenic rail lift ride, and if you're good..." she whispered into his ear "It can be a real bumpy ride."

"D-d-Daisy? Is that you? What happened to your face?"

Luigi edged away from the strange looking Princess, he almost forgot about the whole Rosalina thing being paralyzed with fear.

Daisy/Mask lifted him up and started peppering him with kisses. "Eeeayagh! Let me go." He wriggled out of her grip and jumped for the next Warp Pipe.

"Must hide..." Luigi thought "Scary...woman."

Daisy trailed behind him "Don't make me angry Luigikins...you know how I get when I get ANGRY!"


*whew* Sorry to keep you guys waiting. Self conscious with the colors, spot checking you know...

A minor side note, I don't know if the whole "female Mask' catching on or not but if you're curious about something or have any suggestions regarding this er..."motif" don't hesitate to ask. No dude wearers though.

Technical notes

-To anyone complaining about the pipes coming in other colors besides green, play Super Mario World or New Super Mario Bros. and kindly shut your trap.

Another reason why multiple colored pipes appear her would be because there's a lot of green objects in the picture if you notice. I was trying not to make them "overlap".

-For some reason, I thought this had a bit of a jbwarner86 feel to it. Wonder if that was Shoxxe's direction here. Nice touch all the same.

-Ignore the crappy vapor trails left by the Toads. I was anxious to get this out the door, so colored those as slick as I could.

-In the second dialogue bubble, the light green and yellow used text ("Is... My...") is supposed to reflect Daisy's voice and her mask voice. She's supposed to speak like Dorian in the first movie or the B&B Corps in MGS4; her voice and a "monster" voice speak in unison. I don't have access to Deanna Mustard or a soundboard, so this is the best I can do to reflect that.

-I used shading to add a nose to Daisy. You can barely make it out though.

-Yes, that IS the Golden Hammer from Wrecking Crew...or Brawl if you're a Philistine.

-This LOOKS simple to color (probably would be if I downscaled the original size significantly before starting), but I never downscale until I finish coloring the original. This also means I'll have to double check everything, especially any white spots or "holes"

-Daisy doesn't really wear lipstick in any recent artwork (save for her depiction Super Mario Land), however it's a golden rule Mask forms. I felt the golden yellow lipstick was suiting, I mean Peach wears pink and it matches her dress...Daisy must adhere to the same deal. Not Rosalina though...

-If you notice any familiar color schemes of some Toads or Toadettes, then yes it's very intentional. Check out DiC Toad or Vivian Toad.
