Yep another Mask piece going up there. The (un?)lucky lady this time is Yuna from Final Fantasy X, taking place in X-2's timeline. Looks like a bit of chaos is going to stir up on the Gullwings. By the looks of those ominous clouds, I'd say we're in BIG trouble.
This marks the third time a Final Fantasy character gets the Mask of course. Probably won't be the last either, Ashe's likely to be the next ... but I'm not telling the future or anything, it's just a common suggestion I hear from many unnamed parties.
Kittystavern is the artist for this one, if I hadn't hammered it down enough times. Ms. Swain's linework gave me quite the challenge in shading but I'm sure I fought well.
Backstory courtesy of -------------- 'The Mask' travels across reality and lands up in the world of Spira. It lands in the city of Zanarkand during the Zanarkand-Bevelle wars. The people of Zanarkand tried to harness 'The Mask', but it proved too much for them and it was lost.
Many centuries later, after the defeat of Sin by Yuna and her guardians, Cid finds 'The Mask' while he was turning Zanarkand into tourist attraction. Rikku aquired 'The Mask' from her dad and she kept as a good luck charm.
Right now, we find Yuna on the deck of Celesis as she looks out to think.
Rikku arrives and she asks, "What's wrong, Yunie?"
Yuna says, with a sigh, "It is just this whole situation with Vegnagun and the possibity that most likely, the person I saw in the sphere wasn't..."
Rikku tells Yuna, with a smile, "Don't worry, Yuna! You can't give up hope! And I know something that will help!"
Yuna asks, curiously, "What?"
Rikku takes out 'The Mask' and she says, with a smile, "My good luck charm of course! My dad found when he tried to turn Zanarkand into a tourist attraction!"
Yuna takes 'The Mask' and she asks, curiously, "He did?"
Rikku says, with a smile, "That's right, Yunie! I kept it as a good luck charm! I don't know why, but I feel something magicial about it! Why don't you have it? And you can't say no!"
Yuna says, with a smile and a sigh, "Well, Rikku, if you insist..."
Rikku yells out, excitedly, "Great! See you below! Things will work out! You'll see!" Rikku then runs back into the ship and leaves Yuna alone with 'The Mask'.
Yuna says, with a sigh, "I hope so, Rikku." Yuna looks at 'The Mask' and she says, plainly, "I feel something strange about it. Maybe you can tell me if things are going to be okay." Yuna says, with a giggle, "What am I doing? I'm talking to some kind of mask and it can't...!" Just then 'The Mask' shimmers right in front of her eyes and Yuna can't keep her eyes off 'The Mask'. Yuna can't help herself to turn 'The Mask' around and put it on her face. It immediately latches onto her face and becomes like hot wax/rubber as it quickly covers her face. Yuna can't help to scream from the hot sensation surging through her as she struggles to get 'The Mask' off, but she can't. Yuna's body then spins around in a mini-twister filled with thunder, lightning, and wind. She spins around the deck for awhile, but she then comes to a stop with a loud car-like 'screech' revealing a new Yuna!
This 'new Yuna' has her hair back during her journey with Tidus and her 'family' from Besaid, the skin of her face down to the start of her neck is lime green, long and sensual eyebrows, deep, plump, and gorgeous maroon lips and wearing a deep blue tight fitting bikini top that only covers much of the front of her breasts and held together by skinny lines along with a dark blue g-string over the area in-between her legs.
Yuna/Mask goes into a sexy pose and she yells out, excitedly, "Wow! This is spanking!" Yuna/Mask gives a wide smile that shows her pearly whites and she calls out, excitedly, "Rikku is right! Everything is going to be just fine and I'm going to make it happen my way! Look out, Tidus, I'm creating my story in my way!" Yuna/Mask looks to the skies and prepares to make her own adventure to bring back Tidus among other things...'

-The "alternate" picture is actually the color Jokerisdaking wanted. HazardGallantmon suggested a blue one to to match the Songstress outfit (as well as the sky background). Done merely to stay consistent with the back story, otherwise would have gone with the "director's" choice as the default.
-Tried to shade the hair individually then I just got lazy with some generic values placed here and there.
-There are teeth somewhat defined, but since I suck at doing them you can't make them out too well...I think.
I had fun coloring it all the same, shows my abilities well. I take it you like the way the other artist handles the Mask I suppose. He's still our choice artist, the other stuff in-between is just testing the waters for a viable secondary artist is all.
The shade of green I choose is a bit of a yellowish lime green (and to be fair, even HazardGallantmon's fics put it on the color of choice). Guess I could try a darker shade next time but coloring is one of the few cases where I trust my eyes.
Well it isn't the first time really, the artist that did the 2nd Final Fantasy character Mask victim (Rydia) was also a different artist. Another artist did Lana from Smallville and there was a variation involving Princess Zelda and Majora's Mask merging in a similar manner.
So far though, you're the best in play because the way you mix styles. So you're not out of the job, it's just that the lines have been getting healthily busy as of late.
Even if that weren't the case, it's still interesting seeing how other artists have their take on the theme...hell if money was no issue I'd even get Teruchan to do a manga ...yeah that girl is expensive.
If I had to make a parallel to animation, it's much like the days of Animaniacs or Bonkers where the key episodes are handled by Tokyo Movie Shinsha [Wakko's Wish] or Walt Disney Television Animation Australia [Going/Gone Bonkers] and everyone else does the episodes inbetween.
I don't like the shade of green on her face I like more of a darker green.
